![]() Confirmed Title: Paper Mario 3DSPaper Mario 3DS is the forth game in the Paper Mario series, which is unlikely to be on sale along with the 3DS console in March 2011. Ever since Paper Mario 3DS game was revealed at the E3 convention, there has been a huge spate of excitement surrounding this much coveted 3DS console which has once again placed Nintendo in the spotlight. Paper Mario is originally a 2D side-scrolling platform game which was created by Intelligent Systems and made for the Nintendo 64 console. Although the demo looked very much like the previous games, the visuals and special effects have positively undergone a huge overhaul and the 3D stereoscopic effect is very successful yet subtle. This game will be available in both 3D and 2D and will return to the original turn-based battling sequences. But the graphical display is like nothing before; almost comparable to Wii graphics. These are certainly more improved when compared to the PSP and controls are not clumsy to use. The ‘slide pad’ or the new analogue controller is a new addition used in its gameplay. New characters in Paper Mario 3DS will definitely be welcomed. Although characters in Paper Mario 3DS are clearly visible, their approaches from the previous characters are different to Chain Chomp and Pokey. Since 3D is the key of this new game, developers are trying to introduce new forms of gameplay like possible layering of backgrounds. The 3D effect will also be used to manipulate certain weapons and moves in the battles like displaying battle scenes in 3D and characters in 2D and again weapons in 3D. You get the option to connect to a LAN server and a wireless capacity allows you to connect to friends staying close by. These advanced and novel inputs could very well make Paper Mario 3DS the best to date and Nintendo may finally be able to catapult this into a cult amongst game-enthusiasts. This game has surely got an edge because of the way Nintendo has stylized every character this time. Though there has been a carryover of most features from the original series, this version is expected to be far better with Spot Pass capabilities extending gameplay. Click here to write your review.
