Yes you will able to play mp3 tracks.
As you know you can take still images in 3d and later update you will able to do 3d video recording,some say the 3d photo feature isn't very good because you can only display the 3d photos only on 3ds,that's where there are wrong first of all the system will need to be in 3d then you can see if the photos will display the photos in 3d before saying anything.
It's good system to start of with and you can see further down the corridors in more depth that wasn't possible without 3d,it's just like in real life when you approach an corridor or object.
The graphics are awesome,real 3d graphics are out of this world,sound is good,it's an groundbreaking console which must be seen to be believed.

I've heard you can record 180 sounds lasting 10 seconds through a 3DS. Will i be able to playback MP3's?
